WORSHIP AT THE FOOTHILLS
"I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God -- this is your true and proper worship." Romans 12:1
I love that God's word defines "worship" as primarily a life of obedience to a merciful God who has already forgiven us of our sin through his grace. "Worship" in a collective church service is a response to the amazing love God has shown us (and continues to show us). Our musical style at the Foothills incorporates four types of songs: celebration - upbeat songs that celebrate God's greatness and his work in our lives, contemplation - songs that help us take some time to remember the true meaning of worship and examine where we are with God, communion - a time of reflection and worship that expresses our love and adoration for the Lord, and finally culmination - bridging each of these aspects of joyful expression, we sing songs that celebrate our hope and victory in Christ.
